Catechesis of the Good Shepherd at St. Patrick's School

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a a Montessori -based faith formation founded on two pillars: Sacred Scripture and Holy liturgy. Through the use of Scripture and materials, which we call “work,” children are invited to enter into a deeper relationship with God.

Where do the children gather for CGS

A dedicated prepared space for children called Atrium along with extensively trained catechists. The atrium is a special place of work and prayer, filled with kids-sized furniture and hands on models of people, places, and items found in scripture and liturgy. These manipulatives are introduced to the children throughout the year. Each week , the children choose “work” to continue their meditation about particular Scripture texts or signs from the liturgy.Working with these materials , allows the child to enter more deeply into meditation , nurturing their relationship with the Good Shepherd.

At this time St.Patrick’s is offering CGS for children at St.Therese Atrium located in Holy Grounds and St.Patrick Atrium in the West portable behind the Holy Grounds
