Where each child is encouraged to grow intellectually, physically, socially, aesthetically and above all, spiritually.
We are very blessed at St. Patrick’s school that we can offer the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) program for the 2020/21 school year.
CGS is a Roman Catholic religious formation for children ages 3-12. CGS is based on the Bible and the liturgy of the Catholic Church; it is inspired by the principles of Montessori education. It is offered now to St. Patrick’s Kindergarten to Grade 3 classes.
The Atrium is a room prepared for the children in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program. It is a place of prayer, work and community. In the atrium, Jesus is the teacher. The role of the Catechist is to listen to God with children. Our Atrium is located next to the St. Thomas Chapel at St. Patrick’s parish, on the right-hand side.
During an atrium session, the catechist/instructor and the child engage in biblical and liturgical presentations. The child then works with carefully produced materials. This “hands-on” experience invites the child to contemplate and enjoy God’s presence, and to respond to his love.
