One Family, One Hope in Christ

A good person out of the store of goodness in his heart produces good, but an evil person out of a store of evil produces evil; for from the fullness of the heart the mouth speaks.Luke 6:45 Daily Health Check

Dear Families,

Last week, our teaching staff had the opportunity to hear some amazing speakers during our Catholic Educators Conference. While it was virtual, we made the most of it by spending time together as a staff here at the school. Our keynote speaker on Thursday was Frank De Angelis, the previous principal at Columbine High School. He was there on that tragic day in 1999 when their school was rocked by inconceivable tragedy. While I listened to his story, I took away many lessons but most of all, the importance of faith and hope.

As we look towards the beginning of Lent next week, I look forward to prayerful reflection as we journey towards the hope that Easter brings.

On Tuesday, our Kindergarten and Gr. 1’s will be celebrating 100 Day! A hundred days of learning and spending time with our friends at school. It is amazing to witness their growth in their hundred days at school.

Yours In Christ,

Mrs. Maria Fonseca

Shrove Tuesday – March 1st

Our Knights of Columbus will be providing pancakes for students and staff on Tuesday, March 1st. Please ensure that your child brings cutlery to eat their pancakes with. Classes will be served pancakes in the gym and they will eat in their classrooms.

If your child has any food allergies to pancakes, butter and/or pancake syrup, please inform their teacher and send an alternative to school.

Ash Wednesday – March 2nd

On Ash Wednesday, we will begin our Lenten journey with a sacrifice lunch. Our Hot Lunch program will be giving each student a white bun from Cobbs bread for lunch. We ask that you please refrain from sending any “treat” items that day, such as sweets, chips juice, etc. We do encourage a healthy snack, such as fruits or vegetables for recess.

If your child has any dietary issues, please let the classroom teacher know.

In an effort to have all our students and staff attend in person, we will be having a school mass for students and staff only at 12:45. We will do our best to dismiss on time at 2:00pm.

Used Uniform Sale – March 3rd

Mrs. Tuck is preparing a used uniform sale for March 3rd from 2:00 – 3:30 pm.

We are collecting used uniform donations in good condition until Mon. February 28th. No tears, rips or stains please. Any proceeds from donated pieces go back to the school.

If you would like to sell your pieces through the sale, please ensure that the pieces are in good conditioned, laundered and places in a ziplock bag with your family name and price on it.

For inquiries, please contact [email protected]

Purdy’s Fundraiser

Calling ALL chocolate-lovers!

We’re teaming up with Purdy’s Chocolates to fundraise for St. Patrick’s School this Easter!

Stock up on your favourite Purdy’s treats (did someone say Hedgehogs?) AND support a great cause at the same time – it’s the best of both worlds. All fundraising profits raised will directly support St. Patrick’s School, so every order makes a great difference to us.

Ordering is as easy as eating chocolate; and who doesn’t love some help from the Easter Bunny at Easter.

Just click this link http://fundraising.purdys.com/1312598-92265 .

Fill out your info (you’ll need an email address), click “Join Campaign”, and order to your heart’s content!

HIP HOP VIDEOS

Thank you to our Parent Support Group for their continued support in bringing in our Hip Hop instructors. The student videos have been sent in a separate email, along with the password for each video. There are two links, one for primary and one for intermediate.

Below is the annual staff video 🙂 While another week (or more!) of practice would have been helpful, we had a lot of fun with it! Thank you to the staff who participated.
