Seeking Truth, Healing and Reconciliation

Friday, January 6, 2023

Dear Families,

Happy New Year and Happy Feast of the Epiphany!

I learned something new this week, that new year’s resolutions date back to Babylonian times. The Babylonians thought that if they fulfilled their promises, which they made in March during the planting of the crops, then their gods would look favourably upon them.

Now, resolutions are made to better ourselves. Every year, I used to vow to eat better, exercise more and spend less. January was great and somewhere between February and December, there seemed to be more excuses to break the resolutions than there was resolve to keep them. The past couple of years, I have chosen a word of the year. This has given me single focus to help with my life choices. My word this year is “simplify”. My hope is to take out the extra things that I do not need in my life to be able to focus on the proper order to bring J.O.Y. into my life: Jesus, Others, Self.

Whatever it is that helps you bring joy to your lives, I hope you take time to make memories, to find adventures and to seek quiet times with our Lord this year. Let’s make 2023 a great year to remember!

Yours In Christ,

Mrs. Maria Fonseca

If you know of any new families looking for a vibrant Catholic school in our area, please invite them to our Open House on January 18, 2023. We will have an information session in the gym starting at 6:00 pm followed by tours in the school.

If they are unable to attend that evening, please ask them to call the school to book a tour and to obtain a registration package.
