Cold & Flu Season – Daily Health Check

Dear Families,

As we are experiencing cold/flu season during a pandemic, please do a daily health check with your children BEFORE dropping them off in the morning https://www.k12dailycheck.gov.bc.ca/healthcheck?execution=e1s1

IF YOUR CHILD IS NOT FEELING WELL, PLEASE KEEP THEM HOME. Sending them with medication, even over the counter to mask any of the symptoms listed below would not be helpful in keeping the community safe.

If you have 1 symptom, stay home until you feel better. If you have 2 or more symptoms, stay home and wait 24 hours to see if you feel better. Get tested if not better after 24 hours.

– Sore throat

– Loss of appetite

– Headache

– Body aches

– Extreme fatigue or tiredness

– Nausea or vomiting

– Diarrhea

If you have 1 or more ot these symptoms, get tested and stay home:

– Fever (above 38 C)

– Chills

– Cough

– Loss of sense of smell or taste

– Difficulty breathing

It is good to know when to get tested for COVID.

Please refer to this handout,

http://www.bccdc.ca/Health-Info-Site/Documents/COVID_public_guidance/When_to_get_tested.pdf

A printed copy will be sent home, please keep it handy.

If you do require testing, the closest one to us is at the Ridge Meadows Hospital. They do not require appointments and drive thru is available.
