Weekly Update for St. Patrick’s School Community
Walk with Jesus Our Living Hope
October 9th, 2020
Happy Thanksgiving to you all! I want to wish you and your families a wonderful weekend.
In the midst of everything we give thanks for all the blessings we have. I have been able to visit some classrooms this week and I have observed all the hard work the students and staff have put in.
We are still working on the virtue of Respect this month. It is a beautiful sight to see the students doing things for each other without being prompted. I have noticed them holding the door for one another, greeting adults and peers in the hallway, using respectful language, putting their belongings away – what a great way to show respect in our school!
I wish you all a wonderful long weekend and may God’s blessings come upon you and your loved ones. God bless!
Yours In Christ,
Mrs. Maria Fonseca
Summer Uniform Options Ending
Starting Tuesday, Oct. 13th, the summer option of shorts and skorts are no longer available. Students will need to wear their kilts (girls) and pants (boys) on non-P.E. days. They are still able to wear their gym strip, including the solid black sweatpants and sweatshirts, on P.E. days.
Parent Teacher Conferences
This year, we will be offering Parent-Teacher Conferences online. Next week, a sign up link will be sent to families to book times with the classroom teachers. If you would like to meet with the specialist teachers (P.E., Music, French), please send them an email to book a time with them. I am also available to meet with families if you would like to book a time with me.
Please send any outstanding photo orders by TUES., OCT. 13th or send your order online.
Retakes will happen on Oct. 26th and we will allow for our remaining Temporary Transition students to come in and get photos taken at a designated time. We will send out that information closer to the date.
Comfort Kits are due on Oct. 16th.
Gym Bags are available in the office for $4.00 – contact Mrs. Rieu in the office to purchase [email protected]

Here is a link to a free Webinar hosted by the Archdiocese of Vancouver for families on how to celebrate Hallowtide.
Jayme McKinnon is a home schooling mother of 5 who will talk about creative and fun ways to engage children in the season. Tony Walters, a teacher, is going to share dynamic ideas on how to engage students in the richness of Hallowtide. Fr. Mark McGuckin will present some of the theological and pastoral aspects of this season: how to engage the current Halloween culture; the significance of the saints, of praying for holy souls, of coming face to face with our mortality and remembering that we are made for heaven.
