School Christmas Lunch

Hi St. Patrick’s Parents and Community,

I’m sending you all a letter in regards to our annual Christmas Lunch.  As Principal Heah mentioned in his Parent Memo, our team this year is facing significant challenges in organizing this special, school-wide event.  In addition to needing more parent volunteers to help us on the Prep days and definitely on our serving day (December 11th), we are also in need of Turkey and Ham donations.

Historically, the Friends in Need Food Bank has generously been able to share from their donations with us and we have never needed to purchase the 12-15 Turkeys and 3-4 hams we prepare annually for our school.  Unfortunately, they did not receive adequate donations to meet their community needs this year, and so we were not provided any for our annual lunch.

My ask of you is this:  If you happen to have a Turkey or Ham in your freezer that you don’t want or need, would you consider donating to the school Christmas Lunch? Please do not go and purchase a Turkey or Ham, we are only asking that if you happen to have one you are not planning on using, we would love it if you would consider donating it for our lunch. Our goal is to try and keep the cost low for our families, however we recognize that there will be a need to increase costs if we are unable to secure enough donated Turkeys and Hams.

Please know that I am also currently (and have been over the past week) approaching local grocers for their support, but considering the timing and the need to put the lunch order form online by Wednesday of next week, I’m also reaching out to you for your help.

Thank you so much for your time and consideration.
