Student Materials / Statement from the Bishop / Statement from the Minister of Education

Dear Parents,

A number of you have asked what to do regarding picking up school materials for absent students. While we will try our best to accommodate requests to send home with friends, we have a very large number of absent students today, therefore this may not be possible. The following are options:

  • Option 1. You may come today after school (2:55) to pick up your child(ren)’s materials – we will be here until 4:00pm
  • Option 2. You can wait for an official school closure announcement over the break, at which time I will make myself available for one day for parents to come and pick up materials

At this time Dr. Bonnie Henry has stated that there are no plans to close schools in British Columbia, however, as you have seen, measures taken to stop the spread are changing on a daily basis, so we want to be prepared. We want to ensure that if schools are closed, your children(ren) will not be losing out on their educational program. Please continue to stay tuned for updates on responses to COVID 19.

Please see attached statement from the Deputy Minister of Education regarding COVID 19.

Also this morning, the Archbishop put out a statement that I am attaching to this email for your reference.
