Mr. Heah’s Update – April 9th 2020

Dear St. Patrick’s parents,

We made it through the first week! I know there have been lots of ups and downs, but from all the feedback that I have received, overall it has been very positive, given the current situation. I want to express my deep gratitude to all of our staff for the way they have taken on this challenge. They have worked so hard to provide the best education possible, and keeping the sense of community alive. I am so blessed to have such an amazing staff! Thank you to all of you for your hard work in making the best of the situation. No doubt, you have faced many challenges having your children learning from home, but I hope that the experience has proven to be fruitful for you too.

A few items to take note of:

1. Please be reminded that tomorrow and Monday are non-instructional days, so teachers will not be online. Please take the time to relax and really immerse yourself in the beauty of the Triduum. There are many wonderful programs to watch in Formed, Ascension Press, and of course don’t forget to check the St. Patrick’s Parish schedule for the events happening over the weekend.

2. Although Zoom has temporarily been suspended, Google Meets continues to be a good option until we get access to the Ministry’s enterprise version of Zoom. Teachers can continue to provide live interactions with Google meets until Zoom returns.

3. One of our traditions has always been to have a slideshow every month at our assembly. Of course we cannot do this in person, but I would love to continue the tradition. If you have any photos of your children learning at home, please email them to me if you feel comfortable having them on a slideshow. The slideshow will be uploaded to the private login area of our school website. Thank you to those of you who have already shared all of your lovely photos of your kids at home learning and praying! The photos of the children praying with me on the computer are so touching.

Please know that you are all in my prayers. I miss seeing your children very much!

Wishing you and your families a very blessed Easter weekend!

God bless,
